I have 24 volt alternator and planning to attach to a bicycle
(pedal operated battery charger) to charge 12 volt battery
Other post is correct: you could blow up the battery. Better: hook up two 12 volt batteries in series. Then they each drop 12 volts across the individual units, and together they drop 24 volts. No problem.
