Can I change out transmission fluid mix with radiator water on my 97 GMC Safari minivan by myself safely?

I am on a extreme budget and cannot afford a mechanic right now. Can I safely remove transmission fluid that has been mix up with radiator water because my radiator is old and is leaking water into the transmission cooler lines. How do you go about
You do not need to have the radiator repaired or replaced. Buy a separate tranny cooler, remove the tranny cooler lines from the radiator and plug the holes in the radiator with bolts or plugs then run the lines to the new cooler. This is much cheaper
