Will a 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse engine fit a 1999 Eclipse?

I have a 1999 mitsubishi eclipse gs-t. i bought a 1996 gst motor for a swap, I want to know if the motor will run in my car. Thank you.

Yes. If I'm not mistaken its the exact same engine, but I could be wrong. If its not, you can make it work.
