how do i remove the plastic cap off my caleffi radiator thermostatic valve as its sticking?

i have lowered the ring below cap

The ring on most thermostatic valves is there to stop the pre-set adjustment being changed (e.g. by kids)
The valve head can be remove by unscrewing the ribbed ring.
